WINT: The Future of Water Intelligence

WINT: The Future of Water Intelligence

Next time you walk away without properly shutting a faucet, think twice—the world’s most precious resource is being wasted there. Water, the world’s most important resource is being abused to such an extent that multiple regional wars are brewing over its supply, while cities across the world from Cape Town to London are facing severe water shortages.

While water is key for life as well as industrial activity, is also a source of significant risk and ongoing damage to facilities. Water leaks in buildings will damage infrastructure, equipment and other property. And water leaks will often cause secondary damages by disrupting normal business operations. The financial implications are huge—in the UK alone, the British insurance industry pays over $1.6B every year to cover water leak damages.

Although sustainable water management and leak damage prevention have been topics of discussion for a while, solutions that effectively address both needs were impractical until WINT entered the scene. Harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT), WINT delivers a powerful solution that lets organizations detect and prevent water leaks while providing real-time insights to reduce and optimize water usage.

“Awareness for water sustainability is rapidly growing across organizations who are committing to reduce their water footprint. At the same time, water leaks are extremely destructive and may damage anything from electricity and elevators to the foundations of buildings. WINT’s advanced water intelligence solution detects inefficiencies and leaks and will stop water flow in real-time to prevent damage,” explains Yaron Dycian, Chief Product and Strategy Officer at WINT. The water intelligence solution provides customers with deep data-driven insights of their water use, helping organizations identify waste and optimize water usage.
WINT’s sophisticated water intelligence solution combines multiple elements including a highly accurate water metering system and powerful IoT computing devices to glean actionable insights for asset and energy managers. It communicates with the cloud where advanced artificial intelligence analysis is performed regularly. When the devices identify a leak, they alert staff and can activate the automated shutoff valve to prevent further water loss. The shutoff valves can operate either automatically or remotely by facility administrators.

WINT’s sensors fit on to the building’s water supply pipes, irrigation system pipes, and even the water supplies of specific equipment. Monitoring water flows on an ongoing basis, WINT leverages AI and advanced analytics to understand normal flow patterns in water consumption data and detect anomalies. Its sophisticated policy engine enables administrators to define custom water management policies. “Our policy engine allows us to apply the right policy to the right situation. Customers can access the WINT dashboard through our web portal, to keep a tab on water usage patterns, fixture performance reports, and understand various performance indicators” says Dycian. Added to that, WINT’s team of experts monitors the customer’s water health around the clock and helps customers trace the source of problems in their water network.

Placing sustainability and water savings as core to its business strategy, WINT has become a close partner to corporations who are committed to reducing their environmental footprint. Its unique combination of analytics, artificial intelligence and human expertise lets the company bring in new wisdom to this new realm which fosters environment-friendly initiatives as a catalyst to new market opportunity, innovation, and wealth creation.

Explaining the value proposition of the company, Dycian recalls an instance when WINT assisted Atlantis Casino Resort Spa reduce water consumption and reach its water savings and sustainability initiatives. With WINT’s data-driven water intelligence solution, Atlantis can analyze water flow and equip managers with actionable insights that cut costs and protect against costly water damage.

Moving ahead, WINT is focused on preventing water damage while creating a greener tomorrow by delivering immediate data-driven actions and insights to its customers about their water use.
