It all started in 2013 when Ravi Vemulapalli and his ex- Naval Academy roommate decided to venture into the solar industry. The duo recalls how they took into consideration all the gaps existing in the solar energy market to come up with solutions, which lead to the establishment of Veteran Solar.

The key differentiating factor of the company is that it is managed by US Navy veterans who served their nation honorably. As the name says, it has a professionally trained team of installers, who are US Navy veterans, and has performed thousands of solar installations within the states.

Vemulapalli explains that their team is dedicated to designing, installation, and maintenance of solar products. But sometimes the designing part is outsourced to keep the software engineers updated with the latest technologies and designs. As a part of their installation process, Veterans from the company visit the site to survey, and then the management team reviews every single design of the solar panels to make sure it complies with the client’s requirement. It also takes care of the maintenance as and when required.

The ability to manage everything from equipment setup to maintenance for the clients has given Veteran Solar a competitive edge. The uniqueness of Veteran Solar lies in the fact that they never make any recommendation if it’s not in the customer’s best interest. “We understand our clients’ requirements and try to deliver the specific solar equipment they require. As we work with one of the largest utility equipment providers in the world, they provide us every piece of equipment required for solar installations,” adds Vemulapalli.

Although the awareness and commitment to adopt solar energy is gaining popularity, the constant struggle to overcome payback on the investment still exists. Veteran Solar addresses this aspect by providing end-to-end solution while staying committed to the customer and the environment. “The return on investment requires a specific time, but once solar energy is adopted, it will generate great savings for the next 25 years,” emphasizes Vemulapalli.

Going forward, Veteran Solar plans to expand its services to large metro areas between Houston and Dallas that are basically within a four-hour radius of each other. The company has taken this decision as previously they have been in multiple states simultaneously, and they weren’t satisfied with the level of service they were providing. To maintain the quality of solar services, they are making this steady move.
