When businesses reach a critical point with their firm and decide to sell all or part of the company, many choose to partner with a private equity company to reach the next level. This is the area that private equity companies find their jobs. ClearLight Partners is a Southern California private equity firm and a leader among the other private equity firms that invest in established, profitable medium-sized enterprises with significant growth potential. Since its earliest days, ClearLight has raised $900 million in capital from a single limited partner over three funds. The ClearLight team has extensive operational and financial experience and has a history of successful partnerships with owners and industry leaders to generate economic growth and potential value.
It was recent news that ClearLight has sold Pure Water Technology-PHSI to Quench USA, Inc., an operating segment of AquaVenture Holdings Limited. Pure Water Technology-PHSI is a leading producer and marketer of coolers for point-of-use cleaning water. The products of the company are distributed to commercial customers throughout the United States. Through a network of more than 90 dealers and a direct sales channel comprising both regional branches and large national accounts. Bottleless water coolers from PHSI provide a simpler, cheaper, and greener solution than traditional five-gallon water jugs.
In 2009, ClearLight investing in PHSI supported the growth of the dealer channel and launched an initiative for the direct sale to end users in partnership with PHSI’s management team. This direct customer initiative resulted in the opening of seven regional industries to increase the presence of the company in previously underserved markets and the introduction of a number of new, innovative products. Over 100,000 coolers with commercial accounts sought a better solution for clean drinking water with the ClearLight-PHSI network.
“ClearLight was a great partner as an investor with a long-term focus on building enterprise value. Their support helped us enter new markets, expand and improve our product portfolio and bring clean water to America’s workforce,” says Bob Tangredi, CEO of PHSI. For these firms, it was a proud relation between both. ClearLight has entered into the direct channel of the water cooler solutions, and for PHSI, the partnership helped the company to enter new markets, broaden and improve its product portfolio, and provide the American workforce with clean water.
