Architects of New Age Wastewater Treatment Solutions

Stringent regulations and the push for water savings are predominant in food and beverage, heavy industrial and municipal corporations. CWT developed the GEM System as a highly advanced flotation system that utilizes less chemical to remove fat, oil, grease (FOG) and total suspended solids (TSS). The GEM System is smaller in size, which allows it to fit seamlessly into existing facilities while providing high contaminant removal and drier sludge. Unlike conventional technologies, the GEM System is also known for its adaptability and scalability as it is adjustable to handle higher contamination levels in water while increasing hydraulic capacity. “The GEM System can be outright purchased, provided on a rent-to-own basis, or financed. Alternatively, the GEM technology can be used to retrofit existing DAF units that are under-performing. The GEM System technology, whether new or a retrofit, will be tuned to manage the desiredload and flow capacity while providing expansion capabilities for future growth,” says Linda Englander Mills, VP of sales at CWT.

After the GEM System, CWT’s EGSB is an extremely efficient biological solution for BOD removal. The EGSB operates at a high flow while removing excessive amounts of organic material with minimal operational intervention.

CWT’s MBR and MBBR follow biological processes to enable water reuse. “CWT’s main aim is to design and deliver wastewater solutions, products, and processes that align precisely with each client’s specific needs,” says Lechter.

To dewater sludge after biological processes, CWT’s fully automated Dual DSP is capable of starting up, operating, and shutting down with zero manual interface. The Dual DSP is self-cleaning and creates a “sludge cake” that provides storage and hauling savings over unthickened bio-sludge, while also providing the client with the ability to sell or re-use as a biproduct.

Should a client’s plant include future relocation, or should they lack available indoor space, CWT offers containerized units to help clients achieve current needs while providing systems that are expandable to meet future goals.

CWT has many success stories. For example, a client with which CWT has 5 installations (cooked, processed and packaged meats) saves over $24k/month on sludge hauling costs using the GEM System in place of their DAF. On another project, the GEM System saved a client $800k/yr in surcharges for TSS, FOG and undissolved BOD demonstrating that the ROI with a GEM System can be astounding.

CWT’s Team is highly focused on proactively engaging with clients rather than “reacting” to a problem that may occur due to poor planning. CWT approaches each Client as a “Partner”. Englander Mills adds, “We may ask a lot of questions during the design phase, but this is only to ensure that the client purchases exactly what they need upfront and to avoid change orders that so often occur with poor planning”.
